Former Ironton man stabbed to death

WHEELERSBURG — A former Ironton resident is dead, the victim of a stabbing early Saturday morning in Wheelersburg.

According to information from the Scioto County Sheriff’s office, Jonathon Jackson, 20, who had recently moved to Wheelersburg from Ironton was found dead on Kinker Drive just after 1:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are looking for David Hamilton Jr., 28, whose last known address was 2226 Mabert Road, Portsmouth, in connection with the incident.

No information about a possible motive was available as of press time.

Scioto authorities said the sheriff’s office received a call from a female who advised there had been a stabbing.

Jackson’s body is being taken to Hamilton County for an autopsy.
