Several people were arraigned on various charges Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
James W. Jordan, 38, of 125 Township Road 321, Ironton, was arraigned on a bill of information alleging one count of theft from the elderly, five counts of breaking and entering, one count of grand theft and two counts of theft.
Authorities said Jordan broke into Centenary United Methodist Church in February, Empire Metal Recycling in Ironton in January and two garages sometimes between December and January.
In these incidents, Jordan was accused of taking tools, a carburetor and sound equipment from the church. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Mike Gleichauf.
Judge Charles Cooper set a $50,000 cash bond and ordered Jordan to return to court this week for a pretrial conference.
Also Wednesday, Rebecca L. Anderson, 27, of 210 Susan Court, Proctorville, was arraigned on one count of receiving stolen property. Judge D. Scott Bowling set an own recognizance (OR) bond of $25,000 and scheduled a pretrial conference for March 11.
Richard Stacy, 25, 140 Private Drive 314, Ironton, skipped several steps in between and pleaded guilty at his arraignment to one misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon. Bowling sentenced Stacy to 180 days in jail but suspended that sentence and ordered him to serve two-years probation.
Amanda Adkins, 20, of 68 Private Drive 67, South Point, was arraigned on one count of burglary. She pleaded not guilty through her attorney, Michael Gleichauf. She must return to court March 11 for a pretrial conference.
