Earl L. Jenkins, 64, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born March 17, 1944, the son of the late Ogle and Grace McKenzie Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins attended Ironton schools. He was a self-employed truck driver, enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to flea markets and his grandkids. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise Taylor and Fern Kohlenburg; and a brother, Ronnie Jenkins.
He is survived by a daughter and her companion, Brenda Jenkins and Mike Russell of Ironton; a son, Kenneth Earl Jenkins of Flippin, Ark.; a daughter and her companion, Dreama Johnson and Joe Mofford of Kitts Hill; a son and his companion, Eric Fraley and Alicia Corvin of Coal Grove; two granddaughters, Ashley Jenkins and Heather Jenkins, both of Minford; three grandsons, Kenneth Earl Jenkins Jr. and Cody Jenkins, both of River, Ky., and Cory Jenkins of Flippin; four granddaughters, Erica Johnson, Erin Johnson, Emily Johnson and Ellie Johnson, all of Kitts Hill; a grandson, Austin Fraley of Coal Grove; three brothers, Ballard Jenkins of Pemberville, Ogle Jenkins Jr. of Grand Rapids and Gary Jenkins of Ironton; four sisters, Jean Bowman and Margie Lucas, both of Ironton, Faye Heaberlin of Bellefontaine and Sharon Vest of Perrysburg; and a companion, Judy Fraley of Franklin Furnace.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Kenny Wallace officiating.
