PEDRO — The Rock Hill Child Development Center recently hosted a Family Night. The theme for the evening was “Welcome to the Jungle.”

Activities, which align with state content standards, included a jungle animal hunt throughout the building, making snakes, matching parent to their young, habitats, animal print rubbings, making rainsticks, sorting animal prints, “what animal am I?” game and animal shadow matching.

“We are very proud of what we do here as a family of teachers, staff and parents at the preschool and want to share it with our community,” said teacher Christen Adkins. “We are also (had) a Spring Carnival here Saturday. It (was) sponsored by the parents’ group and (had) an inflatable, games, prizes and the Easter Bunny.”

Hundreds of dollars of donations were made by local businesses for door prizes for the families such as Bartram’s Grocery, Guy’s Floor Covering, All That in Coal Grove, The Dollar Tree, Fiesta Hair, Rax, A Touch of Grace, Staley’s, Jim Howard, Bob Linn’s, Stamper’s Barber Shop, Paula’s Beauty Shop, and Kidd’s Kreations.

High school students from Mrs. Knipp’s Early Childhood Program also helped volunteer to greet families and serve food.
