Group to celebrate World Day of Prayer

IRONTON — The Lawrence County Church Women United will mark World Day of Prayer at 1 p.m. at Quinn Chapel AME Church, corner of 8th and Adams streets.

Pancake breakfast set for local church

PROCTORVILLE — First Baptist Church of Proctorville will sponsor a dual fund-raiser to raise money for building of their family life center. There will be a pancake and sausage breakfast Saturday, April 4, from 8 to 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. At the same time there will be car wash on the parking lot at the same. The church wants to build a center geared for families, especially those with teen-agers, in the church and the surrounding community. Cost for the pancake breakfast is $5. Donations will be accepted for the car wash.

OUP to host spring registrations

PROCTORVILLE — Ohio University Proctorville Center is holding registration for spring classes. Returning and new students can register Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Classes begin on March 30. Registration will also take place during spring break next week. There will also be an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. March 24 and a financial aid workshop on March 25 at 4 p.m. Representatives from the university will also be at the Huntington Mall from 1 to 5 p.m. March 21 and March 28 with information about the OU.
