Tri-State residents Jodi Rowe-Collins, with Ohio River Bank, V. Ann Newman, with Compliance and International Controls of Ashland Credit Union, Capt. Jan K. Rader, with the Huntington Fire Department and Ann Roa, stay-at-home mom of 10, gather at Ohio University Southern in appreciation for Women’s “Herstory” Month event. Annually celebrated in March, Women’s History Month acknowledges the many contributions women have made in America’s rich past. From its beginnings as International Women’s Day on March 8, 1911, it has been expanded twice by the U.S. Congress, first as a week-long celebration in 1981 and to its current month-long celebration in 1987.
