APD makes gambling, drug bust

ASHLAND, Ky. — An Ashland, Ky. business was raided late last week and its owner was arrested.
Anthony McKenzie, of Ashland owner, of The Side Pocket, a billiards/game room in the 100 block of 17th Street in Ashland, was charged with charged with public intoxication, trafficking in controlled substances and promoting gambling.
According to a statement from the Ashland, Ky., Police Department, officers on routine patrol Thursday noticed persons inside the pool hall when it should have been closed.
Officers allegedly found McKenzie intoxicated and possessing an undisclosed quantity of narcotics and cash.
Officers also seized illegal gambling equipment. The incident remains under investigation.
