Easter may be a couple of weeks away but the Easter Bunny will be in Ironton Monday evening.

The annual Easter egg hunt, sponsored by the Ironton Business Association, will be 6 p.m. on the lawn of the Lawrence County Courthouse, on the Fourth Street side.

IBA President Rich Patrick said he is expecting 100 kids to show up and collect the 1,200 eggs hidden.

“There is nothing better than seeing those kids run after those eggs,” Patrick said. “We have a blast watching them. It’s usually over in three minutes but it’s something good to see.”

The Easter Bunny will arrive courtesy of the Ironton Fire Department and will have her photo made with the children after the egg hunt.
