CURTIS PANCAKE, SR.

Curtis Ray Pancake Sr., 87, of Ironton died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 15, 1921, the son of the late William and Mamie Ward Pancake. He was the husband of Freidabel Brammer Pancake whom he married Aug.18, 1947 and who survives.
He attended Kitts Hill schools. He was a WWII Army veteran and retired from the Dayton Malleable Iron Company in 1983 after 39 years. He attended Zoar Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and William Cade of Waterloo; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Lloyd E. and Connie Pancake of Ironton and Curtis and Janet Pancake Jr. of Ripley, W. Va.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Pancake officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 8850. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
