COAL GROVE — Despite heavy rains from the previous few days saturating the grounds, the Rocky Top Raceway persevered and was able to hold the first of two Test N’ Tune days last Saturday.
The track was much wetter than anticipated, but after several hours of waiting and running the track in, cars hit the speedway for practice around 4:45 p.m.
More than 30 cars were in attendance for Test N’ Tune along with many spectators. There were approximately three Late Models, 14 Modifieds, four Bombers, 10 Mod Lites, and two 4-cylinders in attendance for the practice day.
The track will be open again this Saturday from 10 a.m. through dusk for the second and final Test N’ Tune day.
Admission will once again be $10 and will be good for a pit pass. Those that purchased pit passes on April 4 will get in FREE this Saturday.
If rain cancels action this week or persons can’t make it, they will get $10 off your ticket on Opening Night or the next race they attend. Fans MUST bring their wristband from April 4 to the gate to be allowed in free or get the $10 discount.
Opening Night has now been set for Friday, April 17, with a full racing program of Late Models-$2,000 to win, Modifieds-$650 to win, Bombers-$350 to win, and Mod Lites-$200 to win.
On Opening Night, gates will open at 4 p.m. with Hot Laps starting at 7:30. Adult general admission is $12, kids 7-10 general admission $2, and kids 6 and under free. Pit admission is $25.
