CHESAPEAKE — It’s all about the pitching for the Chesapeake Lady Panthers.

Allison Chapman outdueled Rock Hill’s Jazel DeAutremont as the Lady Panthers beat the Redwomen 1-0 Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

It was the third straight game that saw Chapman shut down an opponent as Chesapeake remained unbeaten in 10 games.

Chapman struck out 16 and did not walk a batter as she two-hit Rock Hill. DeAutremont matched Chapman with a three-hitter as she struck out four and walked four.

“Chapman has been in a groove lately. In her last three games she’s struck out 16, 14, and 15 batters,” said Lady Panthers’ coach Aaron Rice. “DeAutremont threw well. She changed speeds well.”

Chesapeake scored the game’s lone run in the third inning.

Chapman walked, stole second base, moved up on a fly ball by Nikki Lindsey, and came home on a base hit by Sarah Mayo.

On Saturday, Chesapeake beat Montgomery County (Ky.) 1-0 and Ashland (Ky.) 7-1.

The Lady Panthers got the game’s only run in the first inning against Montgomery County when Nikki Lindsey singled and Sidney Boyle doubled.

In the second game, Ashland took a 1-0 lead in the first inning but Chesapeake tied the game in the second when Boyle walked, Courtney Heffner had a sacrifice bunt, Hannah Henderson walked and Casey Kirk singled.

The Lady Panthers took the lead with a run in the third inning.

Lindsey singled, Mayo and Boyle walked and Heffner had a sacrifice fly.

Chesapeake then scored five times in the sixth.

Heffner walked, Henderson had a bunt single, Kirk, Caitlin Heffner and Sarah Rice all walked for a run. Lindsey singled home two runs and Mayo had an RBI base hit.

Chesapeake (10-0, 3-0) hosts Gallipolis on Tuesday.
