Ironton man arrested after police pursuit

ASHLAND, Ky. — An Ironton man is facing charges in two states after a police pursuit from Ohio into Kentucky Monday night.

Roger Wallace, 46, of 409 Buckhorn St., is charged in Kentucky with criminal mischief, wanton endangerment 1st, resisting arrest, fugitive from another state, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ironton Police Chief Jim Carey said Wallace will be charged in Ohio with fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest and reckless operation of a vehicle.

Just before 9 p.m. Monday, Ashland police were advised that Ironton police were in pursuit of a white vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed going the wrong direction across the 13th Street bridge into Kentucky.

The vehicle struck an Ashland patrol car and continued to drive erratically throughout the city, police there said. The vehicle slowed in the 1500 block of Lexington Avenue and Wallace allegedly exited the vehicle and ran. The vehicle continued moving and struck a parked vehicle.

He was apprehended after a brief search of the area and was taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center for treatment.
