Lady Vikings down Clay
AID — To the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings, “quit” is one of those four-letter words.
After falling behind in the sixth inning, the Lady Vikings rallied to win 7-4 over the Portsmouth Clay Lady Panthers Wednesday in a key Southern Ohio Conference game.
“Our kids were scrappy tonight,” said Lady Vikings coach Jeff “Odie” Estep.
“(Clay) got four runs and we bounced right back and scored. Everybody contributed in our lineup.”
The game was scoreless until the third inning when the Lady Vikings scored twice.
Kayla Ross doubled to start the inning and Julie Carter hit into a fielder’s choice. Chelsea Keathley hit a sacrifice fly for the first run and Nikki Nance had an RBI single.
Clay scored four times to take the lead in the top of the sixth inning, but the Lady Vikings scored five times in the bottom of the inning.
