Being down didn’t stop the St. Joseph Flyers from finishing up.
Despite an emotional letdown, the Flyers still came away winners as they beat the Harvest Christian Warriors 10-7 Thursday at the Ironton Senior League Field.
“We didn’t play with a lot of emotion. We came out flat, but a win is a win. We have to learn to play each game with emotion,” said Flyers’ coach Greg Bryant.
“But we did take advantage of our baserunners.”
St. Joseph remains unbeaten in 10 games this season.
T.J. Young went four-plus innings to get the win while Chad Harvey finished for the save. Young fanned six, walked four, gave up just three hits and four earned runs.

With one out, Pat Gagai walked and Young, Joseph Unger and Levi Hopkins all singled.
