Local sergeant named master trainer

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Army Sgt. 1st Class Ave, Charles C. Miller has arrived for duty as New Master Trainer at Minneapolis Army Recruiting Battalion.

Miller, a recruiter with 18 years of military service, is assigned to the Minneapolis Army Recruiting Battalion.

He is the son of Daniel E. Miller of Ashland, Ky., and Linda B. Miller of Findlay.

His wife, Melissa, is the daughter of Sherrill Burmeister of Ironton.

The sergeant is a 1989 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School, Ashland.

Quinn Chapel to sponsor fish fry

IRONTON — The Members of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church will be sponsoring a Fish Fry on Saturday, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the church located on Eighth and Adams Streets in Ironton.

The cost of each dinner will be $7.00 and will include deep-fried fish filets, and side dishes of macaroni and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, bread and a soft drink.

Dinners can be purchased for take out or dining in at the church social room or outside (weather permitting). Tickets can be purchased from any Quinn Chapel member.

The members of Quinn Chapel invite the Ironton community to enjoy a down home meal on a spring afternoon. All proceeds will be donated to local charitable organizations.
