New Hope United Methodist to host annual rummage sale

Proctorville — New Hope United Methodist Church “Sisters in Christ” ladies group will conduct its annual rummage sale on Saturday May 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will have a variety of household items, clothing, furniture and other new and lightly used items for sale. The ladies will also be serving hot dogs, chips, drinks and desserts throughout the day.

According to Harriet Scragg, the rummage sale is an important part of the overall fundraising efforts of the ladies group.

“The rummage sale is one of biggest fundraisers for the year,” she said. “In order to help all our outreach projects during the year, we need this sale to be a big success,” she added.

Proceeds from the event support church nurturing and community outreach efforts such as funeral dinners, the Rome Ministerial Association Food Pantry, Secret Santa, winter clothing giveaway, missions outreach and other programs.

The church is located on Township Road 1130, just one block off of County Road 775 (Old State Route 775). Turn right across the street from Hall Funeral Home and travel one block east.
