Green’s pitcher Ali Thompson fired a one-hitter and catcher Abbey Barrett went 3-3 as the Lady Bobcats beat the Eastern Lady Eagles 10-1 Wednesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“Eastern has a pretty good ballclub, so that’s a good win for us. We hit the ball pretty well,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

“Thompson is pretty consistent. She played well and she helped herself out with a triple. Barrett played well. She went 3-3 and she does a nice job behind the plate.”

Thompson struck out 15 and walked two in getting the complete game win.

After Eastern got an unearned run in the top of the first inning, Green came back in the bottom of the inning when Barrett singled and Thompson tripled.

The game remained tied until Green scored seven in the fourth inning.

Destiny Skaggs doubled, Cassidy Skaggs, Barrett and Tiffany Stoneking all singled. Adrianne Blankenship was hit by a pitch, Taylor Stevens walked and Breanna Johnson was hit by a pitch.

Runyon grounded out to score a run and Barrett had a double.

The Lady Bobcats added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth inning.

Stoneking walked, Ashley Spears reached on an error, and Runyon and Destiny Skaggs had RBI singles.

Destiny Skaggs went 3-4 as Green collected 11 hits.

Green (9-2, 8-0) hosts Easton Thursday.
