CHESAPEAKE — Didn’t we just do this?

After beating River Valley 12-1 on Thursday, the Chesapeake Lady Panthers beat the same Lady Raiders 10-2 on Friday to remain unbeaten.

“We didn’t start well, but we picked it up and hit the ball well. It’s tough beating the same team two days in a row,” said Lady Panthers’ coach Aaron Rice.

Chesapeake (19-0, 9-0) banged out 16 hits with Sarah Mayo and Hannah Henderson going 3-4, Sarah Rice 2-3 and Nikki Lindsey 2-4 to pace the offense.

The hitting barrage backed the four-hit pitching of Sidney Boyle who struck out seven and walked two.

River Valley took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and Chesapeake tied the score in the second.

Henderson doubled with one out, moved up on a ground out and scored on a hit by Caitlin Heffner.

The Lady Raiders went up 2-1 in the third only to have Chesapeake take the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the inning.

Allison Chapman walked, Lindsey doubled and Mayo had a two-run single. Mayo stole second and scored when Courtney Heffner singled.

The lead went to 7-2 in the fourth inning.

Sarah Rice had a one-out base hit, Chapman was safe on an error and Lindsey singled in Rice. The runners moved up on the return throw and Mayo followed with a two-run base hit.

Two runs scored in the fifth inning when Henderson singled, Casey Kirk had a sacrifice and Caitlin Heffner had an RBI single. Heffner moved up on the return throw and score on another hit by Rice.

The final run scored in the sixth on single by Mayo and a double by Boyle.

Chesapeake (19-0, 9-0) hosts Coal Grove on Monday.
