FRANKLIN FURNACE — This was a tag team match.

Nine players combined for 19 hits including eight extra base hits as the Green Lady Bobcats rolled past the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans 12-2 in five innings on Tuesday.

“Everybody hit the ball. We’re starting to hit better as a team,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

Ali Thompson got the win with a two-hitter. She struck out 11 and did not walk a batter. Both runs were unearned.

After East got an unearned run in the top of the first inning, Green scored two in the bottom of the first inning.

Cassidy Skaggs and Abbey Barrett doubled for a run and Thompson singled in a run.

The lead went to 6-1 in the second inning.

Lauren Jones was safe on an error, Ashlee Runyon doubled and Destiny Skaggs had a two-run single. Cassidy Skaggs, Barrett and Thompson all singled for two more runs.

East got another unearned run in the third but the Lady Bobcats scored three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings to end the game early.

In the fourth, Cassidy Skaggs doubled and Thompson tripled for a run. Blankenship singled home a run. Blankenship scored on a hit by Jones.

In the fifth, Cassidy Skaggs had a base hit, Barrett reached on a fielder’s choice and Tiffany Stoneking doubled in a run. Blankenship had an RBI singled and Jones capped the scoring with a run-scoring single.

Green (13-3, 11-0) hosts Portsmouth Clay on Wednesday to close out the league and regular season play.

The Lady Bobcats face the winner of Miller and South Webster at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
