Redwomen top Trojans in sectional finals
PEDRO — Leather and aluminum.
Those were the main ingredients for the Rock Hill Redwomen who used defense and hitting to beat the Portsmouth Lady Trojans 10-0 Friday in the Division III sectional finals.
“The girls played well tonight. I’m proud of them. We had good defense and they hit the ball well,” said Rock Hill coach Mary Harper.
The Redwomen did not commit an error and had 11 hits to back the three-hit pitching of Jazel DeAutremont who struck out six and walked two.
Rock Hill (12-6) will now play Unioto at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the University of Rio Grande in the district semifinals.
