FRANKLIN FURNACE — Charlotte J. Pierce, 88, of Franklin Furnace, passed away, Saturday, May 30, 2009, at a local health care center. She was born July 13, 1920, in Ironton, a daughter of the late Harry and Harriett Black Ward.
She was a retired supervisor at Rollyson’s Aluminum Co., South Point with 25 years’ service. She graduated from Ironton High School and was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Ashland, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Prim, her second husband, Leslie Pierce; three sisters, Emma Shope, Alma Pulley and Mary Collier; and two brothers, Earl Ward and William Ward.
She is survived by a son, David Pierce, of Franklin Furnace; Lisa Pierce, of Franklin Furnace; Debbie Pierce, of Ironton; a grandson and his wife, Sean D. and Michelle Pierce of Ironton; a granddaughter, Alisha L. Pierce of Franklin Furnace; and great-grandchildren, Brea, Bradley and Karlee Pierce.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Evangelist Sean Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
