SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A high school quarterback from Cincinnati has told Notre Dame football coaches he plans to play for the Fighting Irish in 2010.
Andrew Hendrix, 6-3, 220 pounds, of Moeller High School said he picked the Irish over Ohio State and the Miami Hurricanes, telling The Cincinnati Enquirer that the school was the best fit for him, athletically, academically and religiously.
Hendrix is the sixth player to verbally commit to the Irish recruiting class including another Cincinnati player.
Elder’s Alex Welch, a 6-5, 225-pounder, also committed. He is considered one of this year’s best tight ends.
