OUS program lets youth explore diverse interests

IRONTON — Once again Ohio Unversity Southern is offering its Academy of Excellence geared for students entering first through eighth grades. At the Academy students can spend two weeks of their summer in college taking classes in a variety of interests. The program begins July 27 and runs through Aug. 7. Cost is $110 per student for two class sessions. There are a limited number of partial scholarships are available for students who are eligible for the free or reduced-priced school lunch program.
Registration for the program is now open and can be completed online at www.southern.ohiou.edu/ae For those needing computer access to complete the registration, the Southern Campus Learning, Assessment and Career Resource Center computer lab is available Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with assistance available by a staff member. Parents will be required to sign a release form for students to attend the program.

Students can enjoy the outdoors for a one-week camp while learning the art of horsemanship at the Ohio Horse Park. Cost for the one-week camp is $250. Students can attend the camp July 27-31 or Aug. 3-7. Please contact Kelly Hall at the Horse Park at 740-354-9374 or hallk@ohio.edu.
