SJ-SL golf scramble

The Ironton Catholic Schools annual golf scramble will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, at Diamondlinks Golf Course in Catlettsburg, Ky.

Entry fee is $200 per team or $50 per golfer and covers lunch, green fees and cart fees. Cash prizes will be awarded.

IJHS football meeting

Any boys planning to play football for the Ironton Fighting Tigers seventh and eighth grade teams is asked to meet at 5 p.m.on Monday, July 20, in the bleachers at Tanks Memorial Stadium.

IYFL registrations

The Ironton Youth Football League will conduct registrations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Bob Linn Sporting Goods.

Registration fee is $20 for youths in grades 2-6. Each additional sibling is $5.

Fee for grades K-1 flag football is $10.

Cheerleading registrations will be for grades 3-6. All girls must be present for sizing purposes.

CGLL registrations

The Coal Grove Little League Football will conduct registration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, July 18 and 25, at the practice field.

RHYFL registrations

The Rock Hill Youth Football League will conduct registrations for youths through grade 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the practice field on State Route 93.

IAYSA registrations

The Ironton Area Youth Soccer Association will conduct registrations from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays, July 18 and 25, at Bob Linn Sporting Goods.

Registration is for youths ages 4-14 between the dates Aug. 1 1995 to July 31, 2005. Youths will be divided in groups of U-6 through U-14.

Fee is $20 each and $15 for each additional sibling. There is a $5 late fee for each player for registrations after Aug. 1.

CGYF needs coach

Anyone interested in coaching for the Coal Grove Little League football A-team should contact Scott at (740) 479-0217 or Jason at 479-0025.

SPHS, SPMS soccer

Any student interested in playing soccer at South Point High School or South Point Middle School is asked to contact coach Zane Joy at (304) 638-4529.

Hornets’ physicals

Coal Grove High School and Middle School will conduct free athletic physicals on Thursday, July 16, at the high school. Here are the scheduled times:

9 a.m. — high school and middle school girls; 10:15 — middle school boys; Noon — high school boys.

Students must have a physical in order to participate in any sport during the school year. This is the only time free physicals will be offered.

Ironton VB camp

The Ironton Lady Tigers’ volleyball camp for grades 3-9 as of this fall will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday and Tuesday, July 27-28, at the Ironton High School Sports Center.

Feeis $25. Checks should be made payable to the Tiger Clan. Applications are available from any member of the high school volleyball team or at Bob Linn Sporting Goods.

Each camper receives a T-shirt at the end of the clinic along with an awards’ presentation.

Camp directors are coaches Beth Campbell, Missy Fields and Kevin Richardson.

Rio golf, raffle set

The University of Rio Grande men’s and women’s basketball programs will hold their annual 300 Club Golf Outing Saturday, Aug. 1, at Franklin Valley Golf Course in Jackson with the dinner and raffle at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, in the Newt Oliver Arena.

Donation for the 300 Club raffle is $100 with a grand prize of $10,000. Proceeds benefit the basketball programs.
