CHESAPEAKE — Mary A. Pemberton Arbaugh, 79, of Chesapeake, died Monday, July 13, 2009, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va.
She was born April 21, 1930, in Chesapeake, a daughter of the late Homer and Ceolia Gibson Pemberton. She retired from F.W. Means/Coyne Textile in Huntington, W.Va.  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Kleiber; and four brothers, Carl, Lawrence, Don, and Herman Pemberton.  
Mary is survived by two sons, Herman Darrell Newman, with whom she resided, and John L. Lawson and his wife, Deborah, all of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, John Thomas Newman, Michael Darrell Newman and his wife, Tiffany, Angela Kay Maynard, and her husband, Kirk, and John David Lawson; four great grandchildren, Olivia and Bryson Newman, and Caleb Joshua and Jacob Daniel Maynard; and two sisters, Ella Ruth Carrico of Sebastian, Fla., and Margaret Hardy of Mansfield.  
At Mary’s request, there will be a private family service.  Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery.  Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Hospice of Huntington.  Condolences may be expressed at www.schneidergriffin.com.
