TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Malo Allene Clark Hoenke, of Traverse City, died July 3, 2009, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, after a two-week illness.
She was born May 3, 1926 in Jackson County, Mich. She was a graduate of Ann Arbor High School and attended the University of Michigan. She and her husband, Guy Hoenke, married in 1945 and moved to Ironton through his work with Dow Chemical. After the death of her husband in 1990 she moved to Long Lake near Traverse City.
She is survived by sons, Karl (Catherine) Hoenke of Clear Lake, Calif., Mark (Lynn) Hoenke of Grand Rapids and Frederick (Gayle) Hoenke of Marquette; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
There will be a mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers and, for any memorial, the Marquette General Hospital Foundation.
