PINE GROVE — They went into the day somewhat blind.
The Ironton Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association held a blind partners golf event last Tuesday under the guidance of the week’s hostess Joyce Lewis.
Following refreshments and a meeting, the group enjoyed a blind partners golf event and began the Match Play tournament that will continue for several weeks.
Additional information regarding the tournament can be found in the ladies’ locker room.
During lunch the weekly winners were announced: Pat Riggs and Nancy Livingston, Cecilia Woods and Rose Auble.
Besides the partners’ win, Auble also claimed an individual win.
Christina Ballard, Fraley and Riggs spent time during the day’s events roving around the golf courts and taking snapshots.
Also announced were handicap tournament winners. Betty Fraley won first place with Joyce Lewis, Kathy Fraley and Auble runners-up.
In other news, Riggs said the annual Christmas party date would be held Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the Bellefonte Country Club.
Riggs will serve as this Tuesday’s hostess. A brief business meeting will be held at 9 a.m. followed by golf at 10.
However, the hostess calendar needs to be completed for the rest of the season and members can find the calendar in the ladies’ locker room.
New members are always welcome.
