Ironton shouldn’t destroy heritage with its schools

It is sad enough that we lost our high school. Having been in civil engineering most of my Air Force career, I can’t believe it would not have been cost-effective to remodel or repair the existing high school. However, that is water over the dam.
To me, it is downright criminal the fate awaiting some of the remaining Ironton schools.
I am making an assumption, as I’m not sure all schools will be axed, but I have a strong premonition that disaster awaits several of them.
I have fond memories of Central (first grade), West Ironton (second grade), Lawrence Street (third through sixth grades and repeat of seventh grade) and Kingsbury (seventh grade).
