COLUMBUS — Ohio State coach Jim Tressel says linebacker Tyler Moeller will miss the season.

The fourth-year junior from Cincinnati injured his head when it hit the floor during a family trip in Florida about two weeks ago. A hospital spokesman says Moeller was released Monday from the Ohio State University Medical Center.

Moeller, a junior, was expected to start at outside linebacker.

Tressel said Tuesday he hopes Moeller returns for the 2010 season, but gave no details of the injury.

Receiver Ray Small has been sitting out preseason camp due to academic issues, but his father says he’s due to rejoin the team any day.
