IRONTON — Southern Ohio Behavioral Health helped organize four area-nursing facilities to get together once or twice a month to compete in a virtual bowling league.

The facilities that participated were Bryant’s Health Center, Fountainhead Nursing Home, Jo-Lin’s Health Center and Sunset Nursing Center.

Each facility had a chance to host at least one event so all the residents could join in on the fun.

It was a competitive and exciting first season. Each team competed in five different events and the top two teams at the end of the season competed for the championship and the right to keep the traveling trophy.

Jo-Lin’s Health Center started slow at the first event and worked together to win the regular season championship.

They advanced to the finals against Sunset Nursing Center. Bryant’s Health Center hosted the finals in Ironton so that it would be a neutral site and neither team would have a home team advantage.

It was Sunset Nursing Center that took advantage early and kept the lead to win the first S.O.B.H. Virtual Bowling Championship.

Sunset bowlers for the season included Charles Conley, Bessie Hall, Thomas Reynolds, James Stewart.
