KITTS HILL — Gary L Morris Sr, 66, of Kitts Hill , passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at his residence. He was born July, 23,1943, the son of the late Joe Morgan and Marcella Morris Butler.
Mr. Morris was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. He was a retired machinist at CSX Railroad, owned and ran a sanitation route, was an Army Vietnam veteran and of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Bare Morris; stepfather, Alva Butler; and two children, Jackie and Cynthnia Morris.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Morris of Kitts Hill; his second wife, Carol Bayless of Ashland Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Angela (Jack) Reed of Ashland; daughter and son-in-law, Julie (Doug) Campbell of Ashland; daughter and son-in-law, Bernida (Jeff) Wagoner of Ashland; daughter, Germaine Rose of Kitts Hill; son, Gary L Morris Jr. of Ashland; son: William Scites of Kitts Hill; granddaughters, Ashley France, Mia and Mistia Easterling, Kaylee Morris, Mariah, Ana, Breanna and Kalynn Scites; grandsons, Brett France, Stewart, Sherman, James Miller, Zachary Morris, William, Alex Sutphin, Brandon Scites, and Stephen Adkins and Cody and Isaac Campbell; two great grandchildren, Isaiah Stills and Caroline Littlejohn and a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Marvin Baird of Gallpolis.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. David Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Melvin Cemetery with military graveside rites condcued by VFW 8850.
