Theft, vandalism under investigation

PROCTORVILLE — Proctorville police investigated a theft and a criminal-damaging incident late Sunday evening and early Monday morning.

Vickey J. Singer of Proctorville reported she was the victim of a theft at 9 p.m. Sunday. According to the department’s offense report, she said her car was parked at her grandfather’s house on State Street.

“When she left, she noticed her purse was missing from the car,” the report states.

At 8:25 a.m. Monday Elmer W. Caskey Jr. of Greenup, Ky., reported that earlier that day the front windshield on his 2004 Ford Escape was smashed in.

The shards of glass from the windshield appeared to have red brick dust on them. The SUV was parked at Prichard Street.

There are no suspects at this time. Both incidents are under investigation.
