IRONTON — Fire destroyed a house at 502 S. Eighth St. Saturday morning.

Ironton Fire Lt. Jeff Joseph said firefighters were called to the residence at 8:41 a.m. The occupant was home at the time of the fire but managed to escape without injury.

Joseph said the fire department report has not been completed but the blaze appears to be accidental.

Firefighters were on the scene approximately three hours.
