ODOT hosting open house for Ironton-Russell bridge project

CHILLICOTHE — For those interested in learning more about the present status of the project to replace the Ironton-Russell Bridge, the Ohio Department of Transportation invites everyone to attend an informational meeting that is scheduled to take place this week.

Representatives from ODOT will host an open house to allow the general public to preview exhibits of the structure type that has been selected for the new Ironton-Russell Bridge that will be built over the Ohio River from Ironton, Ohio, to Russell, Kentucky.

The informational meeting is being conducted to share the progress that has been made toward replacing the span, as well as to discuss the tentative schedules for right of way acquisition and construction.

Maps and renderings showing the proposed structure and changes of the highway system will also be displayed, and environmental documentation and other relevant data will be available during the meeting.

The open house will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence County ODOT Highway Maintenance Facility, 450 Commerce Drive, in Ironton.
