ROME TOWNSHIP — The Ohio Department of Transportation is announcing road work for a portion of State Route 7 in Rome Township this weekend and early next week.

During the overnight hours Sunday crews from the Lawrence County highway maintenance facility will be milling S.R. 7 between the Sixth Street (Robert C. Byrd) Bridge and the Symmes Creek Bridge at Chesapeake, as well as between State Route 243 and the Indian Guyan Bridge at Braddrick.

Then on Monday crews will return to the route during daytime, business hours to pave both sections.

Operations are scheduled to begin at approximately 10 p.m. Sunday and continue through the end of the business day Monday.

While paving operations are anticipated to begin at approximately 9 a.m. Monday, this start will be contingent upon the completion of all milling, and all work will be contingent upon the weather.

Throughout the project, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the aid of flaggers, and motorists are advised to expect intermittent periods of delay.
