The St. Joseph Female Flyers picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday in a five-set match against the Rock Hill Redwomen.

St. Joseph won the match 17-25, 25-13, 25-28, 25-20 and 15-11.

“The girls did not give up. I’m glad we got our first win,” said first-year St. Joseph head coach Andrea Rudmann.

“Michelle Staton and Katie Hacker had an awesome night. Kayla Pyles had some clutch serves and Sara Burcham was setting the ball from all over the court. Really, the whole team contributed to the win. Everyone did their part.”

St. Joseph hosts Portsmouth Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
