County residents need to remember at polls

I am writing in reference to the articles concerning the Lawrence County Commissioners and their vote to unappropriate the funds of the county engineer, which placed a stop on all of the projects and maintenance of the some 400 miles of county roads.
This action froze $1,242,819 that was slated for maintenance of roads and bridges.
The problem in question seems to be a three-mile piece of road, County Road 107, that was chip and sealed. This process is to seal spider cracks that would later become potholes.
It is interesting to note that all of County Road 650, all of County Road 141 and portions of County Road 775 and 218 have been chip and sealed, yet the residents who live on these roads, who also have nice homes, did not feel that they were done wrong.
I believe that voters need to take note that Mr. Stephens and Mr. Malone, who voted for this motion, seem to place more value on the folks who live on this three-mile piece of road than they do the folks who live on the other 397 miles of county roads that the county engineer maintains.
There was one commissioner, Mr. Boggs, who voted against such a ridiculous decision.
