PORTSMOUTH — If things come in 3s, the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers wouldn’t mind some more groups of three.
Ironton turned in its third straight strong outing as the Lady Fighting Tigers took a straight sets volleyball win over the Portsmouth Lady Trojans Thursday in a Southeastern Ohio Athletic League game.
“We played very consistent throughout the game,” said Ironton coach Beth Campbell. “We played well in three straight games. Hopefully we’re starting to hit our stride. We’re playing with more confidence, enthusiasm and intensity.”
Lorna Ceaser had 17 points including 6 ace serves to pace Ironton’s 25-17, 25-17, 25-18 win. She also had 13 kills and 6 digs.
Autumn Markel had 9 points and 3 digs for Ironton, Brea Tackett 7 points, 6 digs and 22 setting assists while Janie Morris added 4 points, 13 kills and 3 digs.
“We had a good team effort. We played a lot of girls and they all contributed,” said Campbell.
