CHESTER LONG

ESCONDIDO, Calif., — Chester (Chet) Long of Escondido, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009.
He was born June 26, 1935, a son of the lat Howard and Estella Moore Long.
Chet attended Rock Hill Schools. At the age of 17, he joined the Marine Corps. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Upon retiring he made his home in California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kazuko; one brother, Harold Long; and one sister, Eloise Jenkins.
Surviving are three daughters, Donna Peters, Jeannette Newell and Joyce Friis; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Ambrose Long of Proctorville and four sisters, Ruth Strong of Cortland, Ruby Mannon of Deering, Lucille Sparks of Ironton and Judy Long of Crafton, Md.
A private family service was conducted in California.
