Alice Johnson, 79, of Ironton died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.
She was born July 27, 1930, in Ironton, the daughter of the late Lawrence Joseph Compliment and Mary Catherine Schmeisser Compliment
She was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic Women’s Club, Catholic Women’s Choir and the Catholic Funeral Choir. She retired from Cabletron in Ironton.
She is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Johnson; four daughters, Jennifer White, Deborah Madden, Julia Shope and Rebecca Runyon; two sons, Steven Johnson and Dave Johnson, all of Ironton, six grandchildren; a great grandchild; four sisters, Mary Elizabeth “Sis” Smith, Veronica Runyan, both of Ironton, and Barbara K Shelton and Rose Elle Swarts, both of Coal Grove; and a brother, John James Compliment of Coal Grove.
She was preceded in death by one grandson; three brothers ; and a sister.
A funeral mass will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev.David Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home.
