ASHLAND, Ky. — Raymond L. “Jack” Blair, 75, of Ashland, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at his residence. The Ironton native was born Dec. 15, 1933, the son of the late Lonora Blair. He is survived by his wife, Delores  Rose Rowe Blair, whom he married Jan. 17, 1984.
Mr. Blair was a graduate of Pedro High School and attended Ohio University Southern Campus for two years. He was a former maintenance supervisor with Armco Steel for 38 years, retiring in 1992 and was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and former Navy Seal and a lifetime member of the UDT SEAL Association. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Raeann Blair.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Richard Blair of Nashville and Jack Andrew Blair of Knosha, Wis.; stepson: William E. Rowe of Korea; stepdaughter, Tammie L. Hall of Catlettsburg, Ky.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, with Brother Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery.
