IRONTON — First Baptist Church will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony for its recently opened Faith and Fitness Center on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. The gym is located at 304 S. Fifth St. in Ironton.

Completed during the summer, the $1.3 million multi-use gymnasium contains a full-size basketball court, rubberized walking track, full-use kitchen and rest rooms with showers.

The Faith and Fitness center was also designed to meet American Red Cross specifications to house area residents possibly displaced by house fires or floods.

The front of the center faces Vernon Street, adjacent to the Ironton branch of the Briggs-Lawrence County Public Library.
