IRONTON — Lucille Gibson Vogelsong, 86, of Ironton passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. She was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Pedro, the daughter of the late Benny and Goldie Patton Yates.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Edward Gibson, who passed away Dec. 21, 1993; her second husband: Wayne Vogelsong, who passed away Feb. 25, 2003; a daughter: Faye Loreda Gibson; a son: Ray Douglas Gibson; two grandsons: Bennie Burnham Ratliff and Ronald Allen Ratliff.
Lucille was a homemaker and a member of the Tenth Street Tabernacle Church in Ironton. She attended Ironton schools and lived here all of her life.
Lucille is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law: Brenda and Robert Thompson of Russell, Ky., Goldie and Rick Waugh of Columbus; step-son and his wife: Dave and Tammy Vogelsong of Ironton and their children: Whitney Vogelsong, Madison Vogelsong, Tyler and Brittany Whaley. Four grandchildren: John and Amanda Gillenwater of Ironton, Jim and Missy Gillenwater of Ironton, Angie Gillenwater Murphy of Huntington, W.Va and J.R. Thompson and friend Olivia Jones of Ironton. Two step grandchildren: Tim Waugh and Ryan Waugh. Four great-grandchildren: Nichole Murphy, Steve Murphy, Megan and Bobby Curnutte and Marissa Gillenwater.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, OH 45638 with Rev. Danny Pancake officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery.
