PEDRO — The rain stopped, but not the lightning.

Wheelersburg scored 21 points in less than six minutes to start the game and the Pirates went on to beat the Rock Hill Redmen 45-0 Friday.

Brandon Schankweiler ran just five times for 129 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Pirates improved to 4-1.

Schankweiler had an 11-yard run to put Wheelersburg up 7-0. Quarterback Tyler Lang scored on a 40-yard keeper and the lead was 14-0.

Schankweiler came back with a 34-yard scoring run and Jacob Culver added a 27-yard field goal to make it 24-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Lang hit Andrew Stegman with a 14-yard scoring pass in the second quarter and it was 31-0.

C.J. Adkins recovered a fumble in the end zone and the lead went to 38-0.

Schankweiler broke loose on an 83-yard scoring burst to cap the scoring and it was 45-0 at the half.

Wheelersburg finished with 345 total yards.

Rock Hill (0-5) was held to 33 yards rushing on 27 attempts. Quarterback Will McCollister hit 12-of-21 passes for 120 yards and an interception. Mitchell Davenport caught four passes for 72 yards.
