Sarah Marie Hackworth, 81 of Ironton passed away, Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Hospice of Huntington.
The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 14, 1928, the daughter of the late Leonard Cron and Elizabeth Cogan Blagg.
Mrs. Hackworth attended Hanging Rock Schools, and was a retired beautician for the Washington County Home for 17 years. Also, Mrs. Hackworth was a member of the Church of Christ in Marietta.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hackworth was preceded in death by a former husband, Frank Hackworth; a son, Steven Hackworth; a brother, Leonard Junior Cron; and an uncle, Jake Cogan.
She is survived by a half brother, Leonard Michael Cron of Ironton; a special aunt, Mary Ferguson of Cincinnati; one uncle, Albert Cogan of Newark; and several cousins.
Graveside services will be noon Friday in Woodland Cemetery with Pastor Mark Roach officiating. Friends may call 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home.
