County seeks ‘Most Wanted’

Four local men are finding out that sometimes in life it isn’t so good to be wanted.
The Lawrence County Adult Probation Agency, supervised by the Lawrence County Common Pleas Court and with assistance from The Tribune, is sending a clear message: Violate your probation and you will get caught.
And you will to prison.
The Tribune printed the inaugural story Monday featuring four probation violators whom the probation department has identified as being offenders who need to be apprehended. These are the county’s “Most Wanted.”
These individuals are men and women who have been convicted of felonies but, for one reason or another, were granted leniency by a judge — if they follow some strict guidelines.
And that is exactly where these individuals have gone wrong. The county’s “Most Wanted” will feature individuals who have warrants out for their arrests and/or have violated their probation one way or another.
This weekly series isn’t about embarrassing people. It isn’t about blowing situations out of proportion.
The bottom line is Lawrence County’s law enforcement is trying to keep criminals off the streets. But limited resources and an ever-escalating drug problem facing the county means they need your help in catching those who don’t want to play by the rules.
Citizens can have an impact by letting law enforcement agencies know if they have information about the individuals being sought.
Anyone with information can anonymously provide information to the Adult Probation Agency at (740) 533-4380 or (740) 533-4423.
Law enforcement wants to catch these individuals but citizens have to want to keep them out of our community as well.
