PROCTORVILLE — The goal in tournament play is to advance.

The Fairland Lady Dragons have accomplished that goal after game one in the Division III sectional volleyball tournament.

Fairland beat the Rock Hill Redwomen in straight sets Tuesday, 25-11, 25-19 and 25-5 to reach the sectional finals at 4 p.m. Saturday at Wheelersburg.

“We played really well. The girls did a nice job,” said Lady Dragons coach Missy Gorby.

Kamren Mendoza had 13 points, 6 aces and 10 kills to lead Fairland.

Stormie Spitzer had 11 points, 8 kills and 8 digs while Mackenzie Waters scored 12 points in the win.
