An Ironton area woman accused of stabbing her then-boyfriend was among those arraigned Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Diana Murray, 50, of 2040 County Road 6, was arraigned on one count of second-degree felonious assault.

She pleaded not guilty through her attorney, Philip Heald. She is accused of stabbing Timothy McKenzie with a knife Aug. 16.

Judge Charles Cooper set bond at $50,000 cash or a $50,000 own recognizance (OR) bond with house arrest and ordered her to have no contact with McKenzie.

“Under no circumstances whatsoever are you to be around Timothy McKenzie,” Cooper told Murray. “You are to have nothing to do with him under any conditions. I understand there is a self-defense claim which is the reason for the OR bond.”

Murray must return to court this week for a preliminary hearing.

Also Wednesday, Bryan C. Murphy, 18, of 1173 was arraigned on one count of gross sexual imposition and two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. He pleaded not guilty through Heald, who is also his attorney.

Heald asked that Murphy be allowed to continue on home confinement through Lawrence County Municipal Court instead of electronically monitored home confinement through the common pleas court, which is more expensive.

Heald said an OR bond set in the lower court plus county court home confinement would allow Murphy, who is a high school student, to continue with his studies.

“He can’t afford the adult probation charges,” Heald said. “His principal does want him in school. He is able to graduate.”

Cooper allowed the lower court bond and monitoring system to continue, if possible but ordered Murphy to stay away from his three victims.

He is accused of having inappropriate contact with three girls all under the age of 16. Murphy must return to court this week for a pretrial conference.

Tracy Bundy, 31, Huntington, W.Va., was arraigned on charges of theft, criminal damaging, two counts of forgery and three counts of receiving stolen property.

She pleaded not guilty through her attorney, Mike Gleichauf. Judge D. Scott Bowling set a $20,000 OR bond.

Daniel K. Wagner II, 23, of 70 Township Road 1135, South Point, was arraigned on charges of theft, theft of drugs, burglary, theft from the elderly and tampering with evidence.

He pleaded not guilty through Heald, who is also his attorney.

In asking for a $75,000 cash bond, Assistant Lawrence County Prosecutor Mack Anderson pointed out that, “The defendant has a prior criminal record and is on probation. These are very serious charges.”

Heald asked for an OR bond with electronically monitored home confinement. Cooper accepted Anderson’s recommendation and ordered Wagner to return to court this week for a pretrial conference.

Robert L. Esque Jr., 21, of 52 Township Road 338, Ironton, was arraigned on two counts of trafficking in drugs.

He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Warren Morford. Bowling set bond at $50,000 cash or property plus electronically monitored home confinement and a $50,000 OR bond. Esque must return to court Nov. 11 for a pretrial conference.

Frank Lewis, 45, of 2212 N. Fifth St., Ironton, was arraigned on one count of theft and four counts of grand theft.

He pleaded not guilty through Morford, who is also his attorney. Bowling set bond at $25,000 cash, surety or property plus a $25,000 OR bond.

Lewis must return to court this week for a pretrial conference.

Wilbur Pauley, 46, of 653 County Road 15, South Point, was arraigned on one count of theft.

He pleaded not guilty through Morford, who is also his attorney. Bowling set a $20,000 OR bond and scheduled a Nov. 18 pretrial conference.

Tienna L. Locey, 34, 245 Township Road 1135, Proctorville, was arraigned on two counts of complicity to grand theft.

She pleaded not guilty through her attorney, Mike Gleichauf. Bowling allowed bond set in a lower court to continue, added a $20,000 OR bond and ordered Locey to return to court Nov. 18 for a pretrial conference.

Kenneth G. Hampton, 42, of 269 Township 297, Ironton, was arraigned on a five-count drug indictment.

He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Derick Fisher. Cooper allowed bond posted in a lower court to continue.

Crystal Waulk, 28, of 1358 County Road 15, South Point, was arraigned on a six-count drug indictment. She pleaded not guilty through her attorney, Mark McCown. Bowling allowed a bond set in a lower court to continue and scheduled a Nov. 10 pretrial conference.

Kenneth Waulk, 32, of 2552 County Road 55, Ironton, was arraigned on two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs.

He pleaded not guilty through Morford, who was standing in for Sterling Gill.

Bowling allowed bond set in a lower court to continue and added a $50,000 OR bond. Kenneth Waulk must return to court Nov. 10 for a pretrial conference.
