Candlelight Church Tour Dec. 5

Local churches in the Ironton area will open their doors for the annual Candlelight Church Tour Saturday, Dec. 5 beginning at 5 p.m. Those who participate will be greeted with song and words at each location.

The tour will begin at First Baptist Church and end at the Lawrence County Museum. Admission is free.

Cookies with Santa scheduled for Dec. 6

IRONTON — Cookies with Santa is a fund-raising event for Z Winter Guard and Rivertown Performing Arts league, Inc. It will be held Sunday, Dec. 6 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Ironton City Center. Besides cookies, children will hear Christmas stories read aloud.

There will also be cookie decorating and a craft activity. Admission is $3 for children and $1 for adults (age 13 and over).

‘Cans for Slams’ event set for Dec. 11

CHESAPEAKE — The Grapplers will take center stage in Chesapeake Friday, Dec. 11 at the Chesapeake Community Center.

The Cans for Slams event will begin at 8 p.m. Admission is $8 but patrons can get a $2 discount with donation of two canned food items.

The food will be given to the Chesapeake Food Pantry to be used throughout the holiday season.
