IRONTON — Ernest Blevins, 86, of Ironton died Thursday Nov. 26, 2009 at Oakmont Manor Flatwoods, Ky.
He was the husband of the late Mildred Stapleton Blevins and the son of the late Emit and Hannah Elizabeth Prince Blevins. He was born March 25, 1923.
He was in the United States Navy and was retired from Community Action Alcoholism Program in Ironton. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Phil Blevins and Estill Blevins and three sisters Fern Pancake, Opal Morgan and Elizabeth Blevins.
He is survived by one son Rick Blevins of Proctorville, two daughters: Mary Blevins of Ironton and Joyce Williams of Flatwoods, Ky.; brother Norva Lee Blevins of Flatwoods, Ky.; three grand-daughters: Stacy Burton of Ironton, Brittany Nicole Hilgenberg of Flatwoods, Ky., Debra Blevins of Proctorville and one grandson Mike Smith of Ironton.
His great -grandchildren includes Brady Burton, Delilah Hilgenberg and William Jackson Hilgenberg.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 29 at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home, 1109 S. Sixth St., Ironton with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow at Buckeye Cemetery with V.F.W #8850 performing military rites.
